Staying Cool: Ventilated Seats, Remote Start and Rear Climate by Trim

Which Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram trims offer ventilated seats, remote start, three- and four-zone climate or rear air, with Build & Price costs for the options.

2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee

A black leather seat in a Mobile parking lot in August is a hazard of its own. In the South, heat features are not luxury extras; they decide whether you can touch the steering wheel when you climb in at 4 p.m. This guide sorts what Stellantis offers into four questions: who gets ventilated seats, who gets remote start, who gets bigger climate systems, and what helps keep the glass and metal from cooking.

A caution on the data. We used the manufacturers' Build & Price listings and trim highlight lists. Highlight lists are not complete equipment lists, so a missing feature in our tables means we could not confirm it, not that it is absent. Check the build sheet for the exact vehicle.

Ventilated seats, cheapest way in

Ventilation pulls air through the seat surface, so leather feels dry on a long drive. It tends to arrive on upper trims, and sometimes only through a package.

Vehicle and trim Starting MSRP* How you get ventilated seats
Jeep Cherokee Overland $43,130 Front seats, in the Advanced Pro Tech Group ($1,315*)
Dodge Durango GT Plus AWD HEMI V8 $47,475 First-row seats listed with the trim, with heated first and second rows; the R/T 392 trims ($51,745 and up) list the same
Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Reserve $52,725 Driver and front passenger
Dodge Charger Scat Pack Plus (2-door) $60,840 Front seats, with heating
Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit $61,130 First and second rows
Ram 1500 Laramie $61,880 Front seats, with heating
Jeep Grand Wagoneer $65,000 Front seats, heated and ventilated
Jeep Wagoneer S Limited $65,200 Front seats, in the Comfort Package ($4,000*)
Jeep Recon Moab $66,995 Front seats, in the Comfort Package ($1,995*)

*Manufacturer-published starting MSRP excluding destination, as of November 2026 (Ram ProMaster City: August 2026; Chrysler Voyager: 2026 model-year data). Package prices are Build & Price MSRP.

A few other notes. On the Grand Cherokee, Trailhawk also lists ventilation for driver and passenger, so a Trail Rated version is possible. The Grand Wagoneer Summit and Summit Obsidian can add ventilated second-row seats through Premium Group III ($2,195*), and Summit Reserve lists them. The Wagoneer S Launch Edition lists heated and ventilated seats front and rear as part of the trim. On the Ram 1500, Limited and Tungsten list ventilated front seats, and the RHO Level 1 group ($9,395*) lists ventilated rear seats. The Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator do not list ventilated seats in the published specs.

Remote start

Starting the engine from a distance lets the air conditioner run before you get in. In the brands' build-and-price listings it appears in three ways: standard on a trim, bundled in a convenience package, or inside a bigger equipment group.

Vehicle Where remote start appears Cost*
Jeep Compass Listed on every 2027 trim Standard
Jeep Cherokee Listed on Laredo Standard on that trim
Jeep Grand Cherokee Listed on Laredo X Standard on that trim
Jeep Wrangler Sahara standard; Convenience Group on Sport S, Willys, Rubicon $1,595 (Sport S, Willys) or $195 (Rubicon)
Jeep Gladiator Sahara standard; Convenience Group on other trims $1,795 (Sport S), $1,595 (Willys), $195 (Rubicon, Mojave)
Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 Big Horn Level 1 Plus, Level 2 and Level 2 Plus groups $2,785, $3,035 or $5,285
Ram Chassis Cab Tradesman Level 2 and Big Horn groups $2,945 (Tradesman Level 2)

*Option and package prices as published in Build & Price.

The Wrangler's Convenience Group bundles remote start with automatic temperature control, air filtering and a garage-door opener. The Gladiator's version adds passive entry, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. The Rubicon and Mojave price of $195 is far below the other trims, which suggests those trims already carry part of the bundle (Jeep's 2027 notes give them standard heated seats and a heated wheel). Ask what the group actually adds on the exact trim. On the heavy-duty Rams, remote start is tied to Big Horn equipment groups that also add dual-zone air conditioning, so you pay for a bundle. We did not find remote start in the Ram 1500 data, so ask for it by name.

Bigger climate systems and rear air

If you carry passengers, how many climate zones matter as much as seat cooling. Here is what the data lists.

  • Three zones: the Chrysler Voyager LX (2026 model-year data, $41,395*) and the base Jeep Grand Wagoneer list three-zone automatic temperature control.
  • Four zones: the Grand Wagoneer Summit and Summit Obsidian list four-zone control.
  • Dual-zone: the Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 get dual-zone automatic air conditioning through Tradesman and Big Horn equipment groups, and the Ram 1500 Big Horn Level 2 group ($3,195*) lists it. The Jeep Compass Latitude Altitude lists it in its Convenience Group ($1,795*).
  • Rear climate controls: the Ram ProMaster City Passenger Wagon lists rear climate control ($40,100*, arriving in the first quarter of 2027). The Ram Chassis Cab Ambulance Prep Group ($935*) includes a rear air conditioner and heater prep group. "Prep" suggests preparation for a body builder to finish, not a ready-to-use system.

For three-row family vehicles, the Dodge Durango lists ventilated first-row seats and heated second-row seats on its upper trims, but we did not find third-row vents or rear controls listed for it. If your family rides in the back row, test the Durango with that row occupied on a hot day.

Keeping the sun out

Two items are easy to overlook. On the Dodge Charger, a Mopar Sunshade Package ($350*) lists a front windshield shade and a glass-roof shade, available on R/T Plus, Scat Pack Plus and the Daytona. And the Ram 2500 Tradesman Level 1 and Level 2 groups list tinted acoustic windshield glass.

Sunroofs and panoramic roofs add light and heat. The Chrysler Pacifica Limited and Pinnacle, the Jeep Recon Moab, the Grand Cherokee Limited Reserve and the Cherokee Overland all list dual-pane panoramic sunroofs. If you buy one, check whether the sunshade closes fully and how the cabin feels with it shut, because the roof glass faces the sky for most of the day.

A short shopping plan for hot-climate buyers

  1. Price the whole step. Ventilated seats usually arrive with a trim change or a package, so compare what else comes with it and what you would otherwise pay for.
  2. Look for remote start by name on the build sheet, not just "convenience group."
  3. Test the car at midday. A parking-lot test in summer tells you more than a showroom visit.
  4. If you plan to add window tint or sunshades later, check your state's tint rules first, because they vary.

Bottom line

For the lowest cost, the Jeep Cherokee Overland with its option group is the cheapest ventilated-seat path we found, and the Wrangler or Gladiator Sahara has remote start without a package. For families, the Grand Wagoneer carries the largest climate systems. Whatever you pick, confirm the specific equipment on the window sticker, because this is a feature area where trims, groups and model years change often.
