Under 80 inches tall
At just under 77 inches, the ProMaster City is short enough for most parking structures and residential garages, a big advantage in cities. Inside, the cargo area is still 54 inches tall.

Midsize work van returns under $40K
Starting MSRP*$37,400

The 2027 Ram ProMaster City is an all-new midsize commercial van that fits under 80 inches, so it clears most garages. It is available as a cargo van or a five- or eight-passenger wagon, with a turbocharged four-cylinder and front-wheel drive. Ram is pitching it at small businesses, couriers and trades that do not need a full-size ProMaster.
The South take
ProMaster City returns for 2027, aimed at the small-business buyer who finds a full-size van too big for downtown garages, narrow alleys and tight driveways in places like Miami, Atlanta, Houston and Charleston. The cargo version starts at $37,400 and is front-drive, powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four making 166 hp through an eight-speed automatic. Ram's early targets call for a 2,200-pound payload and roughly 2,000 pounds of towing if you add the Class 3 hitch. At just under 77 inches tall, it still needs a look at posted garage clearances. Ram says the first vans reach dealers in early 2027, so treat every number here as preliminary. The Passenger Wagon, from $40,100, seats five or eight and has rear climate control.

The load floor is 111 inches long and more than 48 inches wide between the wheel arches, enough for a pair of standard U.S. pallets placed front to back. Total cargo volume tops 167 cubic feet.

A sliding door sits on the passenger side, and the rear has either swing doors that open to 180 degrees or a new optional liftgate. Eleven combinations of windows, panels and rear doors are offered.

A 1.6-liter turbo four makes 166 horsepower and 221 lb-ft, driving the front wheels through an eight-speed automatic. Ram's early targets are 2,200 pounds of payload and about 2,000 pounds of towing.

Standard equipment includes a 10-inch digital gauge cluster, a 10-inch touchscreen with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats and a digital rearview mirror. The SLT adds front parking sensors and wireless charging.

Ram's timeline puts the first dealer deliveries in the opening quarter of 2027. The van is built by TOFAS in Bursa, Turkey, and some upfitting happens at Ram's Baltimore center. Nothing Ram has published says which dealers will see stock first, and the spec sheet is still marked preliminary, so confirm payload and towing before you order. Prices start at $37,400 for the Tradesman Cargo.
Ram lists the height as just under 77 inches, about 6 feet 5 inches, on a 129-inch wheelbase with a turning diameter just over 42 feet. Many garages post low clearance bars, so measure before committing, and remember that roof racks or ladders add height. The load floor is 111 inches long, and the rear step-in height is just over 23 inches, which helps with frequent loading.
The Tradesman Cargo starts at $37,400 plus $2,595 destination, or $39,995 delivered. The SLT Cargo is $38,900, the Tradesman Passenger Wagon is $40,100 and the SLT Passenger Wagon is $41,600, all before destination.
Ram says production starts in 2026 and vehicles reach dealers in the first quarter of 2027. Orders opened in the second half of 2026.
Ram's targets are 2,200 pounds of payload and about 2,000 pounds of towing, the latter with the optional Class 3 hitch. The specification sheet is preliminary, so the final numbers may change.
